Undergraduate
Mathematics
Competition

The department of Mathematics and Statistics
at Acadia University normally organizes the Acadia University Undergraduate
Mathematics Competition every Spring right at the end of classes.
This competition is open to any registered
undergraduate student at Acadia from all departments and faculties. The
problems are challenging and are designed to test your mathematical mental
toughness without requiring really advanced mathematical topics. In fact all
of the problems can be solved using high school algebra, geometry and
trigonometry, elementary probability theory, and first year Calculus and a sprinkle of ingenuity.
We would like to acknowledge the financial support of the department of
Mathematics and Statistics and the office of the Dean of Science.
Below we have collected a series of links which contains a bunch of sample
problems - a warning though, many of these problems may be harder than the
ones on the actual competition.
