Student Representation in Program Decision Making


1. Counselling Meetings

Counselling meetings are held throughout the year to discuss and make decisions regarding various issues associated with the program. One student is elected by the Counselling graduate students early in the academic year to serve as a representative at Counselling area meetings. Faculty are not involved in these elections; it is up to the students to choose their representative. The student attends the area meetings and serves as a liaison between the Counselling faculty and students.

2. Practicum Committee

Practicum Committee consists of one Counselling faculty which includes the coordinator of the counselling practicum plus one graduate student. Meetings are held throughout the year to discuss and make decisions regarding various issues associated with practicum. One student is elected by the Counselling graduate students early in the academic year to serve as a representative at Practicum Committee meetings. Faculty are not involved in these elections; it is up to the students to choose their representative.
