Welcome to the homepage of the Atlantic Canada Association of Parasitologists (ACAP)

Our organization was established to bring together parasitologists in eastern Canada for an annual meeting, focusing on students, but allowing principal investigators (PIs) to attend.  Our meetings are intimate and friendly, providing a comfortable, unintimidating venue where students can test the scientific waters (or lands, depending on their interests) with conference-style presentations.  Current PIs are based at the University of New Brunswick, Mount Allison University, University of Prince Edward Island, Dalhousie University, and Acadia University.  Historically, there were also participants from Concordia University and Environment Canada.  In the past, meetings rotated among a diversity of locations, but for at least the last 15 years, we have met, usually in late October, in Pictou, Nova Scotia, and our regular venue has become the Customs House Inn.  Meetings typically begin with a Friday evening chowder reception, followed by a Saturday listening to (mostly) student presentations (Hons, MSc, PhD) on a broad diversity of topics, as the meeting schedules below attest.  A chili dinner follows, after which folks are free to explore the local culture.  If you would like more information, contact us!
