RIDGE and Teachers

What can RIDGE offer teachers?

Materials

An essential part of the RIDGE project was the creation of materials to be used in the project, that can also be useful to teachers.  These include:

• Problems suitable for use in dynamic geometry environments,
• Activity worksheets used in math club setting
• Activity worksheets used in the classroom setting

Workshops

The RIDGE team is committed to supporting teachers who wish to make more use of dynamic geometry and problems solving in their teaching. Workshops will be offered at schools on request. Possible workshop topics include:

• An introduction to Geometer's Sketchpad,
• An introduction to Cabri Geometry,
• Using Cabri JR on the TI 84 graphing calculator
• Using dynamic geometry software as a demonstration tool
• Using dynamic geometry software at a learning station
• Using dynamic geometry software in the computer lab
• Quadrilaterals and dynamic geometry
• Triangles and dynamic geometry: Black Boxes
• Transformational geometry and dynamic geometry 1
• Transformational geometry and dynamic geometry 2: Black Boxes
• Circles and dynamic geometry (Grade 11)

Online tutorials

Tutorials are provided on the RIDGE web site to help teachers make better use of dynamic geometry software.  These include:
