According to an image on the city's website, the top of the logo shows a sunrise in the Pacific Northwest and a new day in the “City of Opportunity.” The merged triangles represent Mount Baker, the Cascade Range, and the Ferndale Metallic Bridge. At the center is the city’s name is a font inspired by historic rail signs and surrounded by a girder representing Ferndale’s industrial strength. At the bottom of the logo are weaved green bars representing Ferndale’s agricultural heritage and diverse population and below are blue waves representing the deep waters of the Salish Sea.
