Marked "Bandera" the modern spelling is BENDERA CHALIFA or Battalion Flag, this flag is 1.27m X 1.75m long, it reads at the top, the usual Moslem phrase, "there is no God but God & Muhammad is his Prophet". Below in the disc is "SULTAN OF TIDORE".

Trumong War Flag

Trumong War Flag (taken in battle 16th Cent.), I have done a line drawing over the top one to show where the Zulfiqar Sword is. The Batak King, Raja Sisingamngaraja XII of Sinambela flew a similar flag, but this was coloured red & white. He reigned 1871 until he was killed by the Dutch in 1907).
