An introduction to chemical analysis: statistical data evaluation, gravimetry and titrimetry, basics of potentiometry, UV-Vis spectroscopy and chromatography.


CHEM3823 - Analytical Chemistry 2: Instrumental Methods

Molecular and atomic spectrometry, gas and liquid chromatography.


CHEM4803– Advanced Chemical Instrumentation

Experimental data acquisition and conditioning. Selected electroanalytical, spectrometric and surface analytical methods.


CHEM2853 - Environmental Analytical Chemistry

Introduction to chemical analysis with an emphasis on the chemistry of the environment. Examples studied will be taken from air, aquatic and terrestrial sources.

 

CHEM1023 – Fundamental Chemistry II

Properties of gases, liquids, solids, and solutions, chemical kinetics, chemical equilibria, acids and bases, entropy and free energy, and electrochemistry.

 

CHEM2103 – Physical Chemistry 1: Chemical Thermodynamics

Principles of chemical thermodynamics. Topics to be covered include the first, second and third laws of thermodynamics and the application of classical thermodynamics to chemical and phase equilibria and electrochemistry.
