(Wolfville,
NS) - Acadia University announced today that
tuition fees for the 2006-2007 academic year will be increased by
3.9 per cent. The increase applies to both domestic and
international students.
Acadia’s tuition fees
which include the use of a notebook computer and all technology
infrastructure and user support services, will be $8,062.00 for
Canadian students ($8,324 for Bachelor of Education) and $14,349.00
for international students ($14, 820 for Bachelor of Education).
Acadia’s unique
teaching and learning environment places identical notebook
computers in the hands of both students and professors. This means
every student has equal access to technology and the information
sources used by their professors. No other university in Canada
offers a similar, comprehensive, technology-rich environment to
students.
Acadia also announced
that one of its student residences, Crowell Tower, will be taken
off-line for the 2006-2007 academic year. Few students have shown an
interest in returning to the residence that is nearing 35 years of
continuous use. Closing Crowell Tower will result in savings of
approximately $200,000 this year.
