(Wolfville, NS) -
Acadia University has the best reputation amongst Canadian primarily
undergraduate universities according to Maclean’s in its annual
university ranking issue. Maclean’s asked 11,430 recruiters, chief
executive officers, guidance counselors, high school principals,
university officials and heads of organizations to rate universities
in four categories, best overall, highest quality, most innovative
and leaders of tomorrow. Acadia was also listed as the country’s
most innovative undergraduate institution.
Acadia has ranked
first in this category in every year but one since the Maclean’s
reputation survey was introduced 15 years ago. This survey result is
significant because it reflects the views of opinion leaders who
help high school students choose the right university and those who
ultimately hire university graduates.
“The Maclean’s
rankings are one of many tools high school students and their
parents use to help decide which university to choose,” said Dr.
Gail Dinter-Gottlieb, President and Vice-Chancellor of Acadia
University. “Knowing that opinion leaders think so highly of our
graduates reflects positively on the quality of the academic
experience we offer and the work our students do to prepare
themselves for their careers beyond Acadia.”
