Acadia Women's Centre presents The Vagina Monologues

- Benefit production includes Acadia president, Dr. Gail Dinter-Gottlieb

(Wolfville, NS) -  On February 14, the Acadia Women’s Centre of Acadia University will present its first ever production of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues.  The show is a benefit performance featuring Acadia students, faculty members, and administration including Acadia University president, Dr. Gail Dinter-Gottlieb.

The benefit performance will be in support of V-Day, a non-profit corporation that distributes funds to grassroots, national, and international organizations and programs that work to stop violence against women and girls.  Through V-Day campaigns, local volunteers and college students produce annual benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues to raise awareness and funds for anti-violence groups within their own communities.  The proceeds from the Acadia performance will be donated to Chrysalis House in Kentville.

The Vagina Monologues is being performed Monday, February 14 at 9:00 p.m. in the MacKeen Room of the Students’ Union Building, Acadia University.  Tickets are $10 ($7 for students) and can be purchased at the Box of Delights Bookstore in Wolfville and in the Beveridge Arts Centre and at the door.
