University announces new Vice-President of ICT

NS) - Acadia University is pleased to welcome Stephen
Tucker as the newest addition to the University’s senior management
team. Mr. Tucker will be taking on the role of Vice-President,
Information & Communication Technology, effective July 1, 2003.
The new position of
Vice-President, ICT will be responsible for managing Acadia’s ICT
professionals and any issues associated with data integration on a
university-wide basis. The Vice-President will focus on ICT
governance, policy, standardization, organization, management,
access and security, including increasing ICT capabilities and ease
of use on campus.

motivated ICT team, under the leadership of the new Vice-President,
Information & Communications Technology Acadia can leverage the
internationally acclaimed Acadia Advantage initiative to pursue
ground breaking academic, e-business and e-commerce solutions,” said
Dr. Kelvin Ogilvie, Acadia's President & Vice-Chancellor.
Mr. Tucker comes to
Acadia after serving as Director of Information Technology at
Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care in Toronto. He has also held
managerial IT positions with MDM Systems, Mastech-Quantum, TKS
Solutions and Federal Express Global Trade Services. Mr. Tucker was
named “IT Executive of the Year” for 2002 by Canada’s largest
computing trade magazine Computing Canada.
With his background
and experience in leading network transformation and developing
innovative IT solutions, Mr. Tucker will help drive strategic ICT
thinking, solutions and administration at Acadia University.
