The understand the relationship between language and politics in Canada is the key objective of this seminar course. The emphasis is on the identification and assessment of the changes in Quebec since the Quiet Revolution. The study includes consideration of the political and policy concerns of the French-speaking minority who live outside Quebec and examines how the politics of gender, ethnicity and class are playing themselves out within Quebec.
