POLS 2096 COMPARATIVE POLITICS

The course will introduce students to the basic tools which are used in the evaluation and comparison of political systems. From an international comparative perspective, students will gain an understanding of different political traditions, institutions, and processes. We will examine the similarities and differences in various governments' policy responses to persistent and newer socio-political and economic problems, including economics development, education and health care reform, questions of gender, ecological degradation and demands for citizen empowerment.
