PHYS 3433 QUANTUM MECHANICS 1

This course and Phys 4433 are designed to bridge the gap between introductory quantum physics and the quantum mechanics of graduate school. Careful attention is given to establishing the fundamental concepts of the theory. Topics include discussion of the wave function and the Fourier integral, operator methods, solutions of one and three-dimensional systems, the harmonic oscillator and one-electron atoms.
Prereq: Phys 2413, with a minimum grade of B-, Math 2023 or 2753, Math 2723
