APSC 2523 ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS 2

Advanced circuit analysis dealing primarily with AC systems. The concepts of sinusoidal excitation, phasors and complex impedance are fully developed. Mutual inductance and magnetically coupled coils are used to describe transformer behaviour and performance. Power calculations for single and balanced three phase systems are covered, introducing the concepts of real and reactive power. Unbalanced networks, grounding and harmonics are also examined.
