An introduction to Earth materials, geologic time, and internal Earth processes, with emphasis on their relationship to natural resources, human activity, and geologic hazards. Plate tectonics, volcanoes, earthquakes, and other catastrophic events will be examined to show the application of geologic principles to understanding environmental problems.
