Community psychologists work on a systems level to make their
communities more competent in delivery of services; more tolerant
toward a spectrum of ethnic groups and lifestyles; more just in
distribution of power and resources; more supportive; and more
knowledgeable about the causes of social problems, the needs of the
community, and the effectiveness of programmes. The focus of the
course is on community consultation as a mode of intervention.
