This course reviews the relationship between religion and the environment from two perspectives. It first traces how traditional religions (Eastern, Western, Aboriginal) define the place of nature in the grand scheme of things. Second, it provides an overview of contemporary ecological spirituality in Western society, including ecoactivism, ecofeminism, deep ecology, and animal rights.
