Four ACSED research associates, Sonya Major, Stephen Ahern, Doug Symons and Bob Perrins, released a report, Academic Achievement and Well-Being of International Students Whose First Language is not English, summarizing the results of their research.
This research, supported by a SSHRC Institutional Grant, was "designed to develop understanding of factors that affect academic achievement and social adjustment of international students in the Canadian context." The researchers had established that there is very little empirical work conducted on this issue in this country. They were also conscious that "internationalization is an issue of some concern at Acadia University" and they wished to "add the students' perspectives to discussions about internationalization at Acadia University."
